The future of Savinho at Manchester City is up in the air as the summer transfer window gets closer to its deadline.

The Brazilian was set to be a big part of Pep Guardiola’s plans for the 25/26 campaign, having started in three of the four games City played at the FIFA Club World Cup, while also being part of the better team that played against Palermo last weekend.

Tottenham’s interest in Savinho seems to have turned his head, with the winger keen on the move to North London, as they can offer him regular minutes as a starter, which he feels is crucial if he wants to be part of the Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Man City do not want to sell Savinho, but Tottenham continue to push, and what the Brazilian’s agents have just done may hint that the 21-year-old could be ready to leave the Etihad Stadium.

Savinho’s agents are travelling to Europe

It was reported on Thursday that Man City have rejected a second bid from Tottenham, which was said to be worth £60m, but Spurs plan to return for the winger.

Man City want £67m to sell Savinho this summer, and according to the Daily Mail, the player’s agents have already set off for Europe, as they want to be in England to try and get the deal over the line before the transfer window shuts.

Frederico Moraes of ProManager left Brazil on Thursday with the plan being to take negotiations further next week.

Thomas Frank wants to sign both Savinho and Eberechi Eze, who Tottenham are currently pushing to sign for their new manager.

Man City will want this saga wrapped up by the end of next week, as that should give them enough time to sign a replacement, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo being Guardiola’s top target.

Thomas Frank key to the Savinho deal

Frank is said to be the key man pushing for Savinho as the new Tottenham manager believes the winger will add a lot to his team and is currently trying to tempt the 21-year-old to move to North London, reports Fabrizio Romano.

“For sure, he’s [Savinho] keen on the move. With Thomas Frank pushing, Thomas Frank is a big part of the story because he believes that Savinho can be a big thing in the Tottenham Hotspur project, and so he’s trying to tempt a player like this, presenting their project,” Romano said on the Here We Go Podcast.

“Manchester City have said no to €50m and then to an improved bid in the following days, from what I was told, it was under €70m, but still an improved bid.

“Man City are still rejecting. They want really important money or nothing, but at the moment are still blocking the deal, so there is no green light from City.”
