When Manchester City are set to announce Savio as new signing

Manchester City are yet to sign a new player this summer, but this will change very soon with a deal for winger Savio done.

The club reached an agreement earlier this year to sign the Brazilian, who wowed on loan at Girona from French club Troyes.

Both of those clubs are owned by City Football Group, and City have made their move to sign the Brazilian following his fantastic past year.

It has always been a case of when and not if with Savio.

Fans have been patiently waiting for those first pictures of the player in City colours.

But he was recently at the Copa America with Brazil so an announcement over the past few weeks was never really likely.

But on publication now has word on when Savio will be presented as a new City player.

City fans cannot wait to watch Savio.

Last season with Girona, he scored 11 goals and made 10 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

He dazzled with his impressive speed and dribbling, and the youngster could potentially be another Jeremy Doku type of player in the way that he is quite pacy and direct.

It has already been suggested that Savio will not be heading out on loan anywhere for the 2024/25 season. Instead, he will go straight into Pep Guardiola‘s first-team and look to make an immediate impression.

But when is Savio actually going to presented as a new City player?

Spanish publication SPORT reported last night that he will be presented next Wednesday in Manchester barring any last-minute changes.

It is also reported by SPORT that the prospect of playing under Pep was huge for Savio. He feels the Spaniard can help him to become a better player and more established in the Brazil team.

Patience required over Savio

So the official signing of Savio is now imminent and City fans really can’t wait to watch a new winger in action at the Etihad Stadium.

Savio thrived last term playing for Girona and was huge in their successful push for Champions League football.

But it will be a big test for him playing in the Premier League. The English top-flight can be unforgiving for young players coming in from overseas, and he will need time to adapt.

Patience will be required over Savio, but we saw Doku have a fairly promising first season after joining from Rennes and so Savio can look at that with opimisim.
