Manchester City almost suffered another wobble against Luton on Sunday – where Rodri and Phil Foden argued at Kenilworth Road.
Goals from Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish secured a 2-1 win for the Citizens after a strike by Elijah Adebayo opened the scoring just before the interval.
So, why did Rodri and Phil Foden argue as Manchester City defeated Luton? Let’s take a look…
Why Rodri and Phil Foden argued
Well, tensions were high in the latter stages of proceedings at Kenilworth Road as Rob Edwards watched his side push to find an equaliser against Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola appeared to criticise Ruben Dias after the 90 minutes had ended for sloppily conceding a corner, but before that, Rodri and Phil Foden were seen clashing as the game drew to a close.
The Manchester Evening News believe that was because the Spain international was unhappy at how easily the England international allowed Ross Barkley to waltz through and test Ederson with a shot.

Mateo Kovacic was also guilty of allowing the Luton No.6 to drive forward with ease, but it is said that Rodri took his anger out on Foden in particular.
John Obi Mikel also spotted Dias showing leadership qualities during the 2-1 win.
Manchester City still looked off against Luton
A win was absolutely vital for Manchester City as the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa sit above them in the Premier League table.
Guardiola’s side fortunately secured all three points, but there is still something that appears to be off about the treble winners.
Defensively, the likes of Dias and Josko Gvardiol are struggling. The latter is admittedly being used as a left-back rather than in his preferred position of centre-back..

Kovacic is also yet to show he can successfully replace Ilkay Gundogan, with the Croatia international leaving Rodri a bit exposed when acting as his partner – John Stones must regain full fitness soon to take over in midfield.
Hopefully, Manchester City will start to look like themselves once again when the FIFA Club World Cup commences soon.
