What will happen if Manchester City win the FIFA Club World Cup? Many have asked on Google ahead of the tournament.
The Citizens have earned a spot in the prestigious competition for the first time ever after winning the UEFA Champions League last season.
Pep Guardiola begins the tournament with a clash against either Club Leon or Urawa Red Diamonds on Sunday 19th December in the Semi-Final stage.
So, what happens if Manchester City end up winning the FIFA Club World Cup? Let’s take a look…
What happens if Manchester City win the FIFA Club World Cup?
Well, let’s start with the obvious.
Manchester City will receive the unique FIFA Club World Cup trophy if the Citizens reign supreme in Saudi Arabia later this month – you can see what that looks like in all its glory below.

Clubs also get a FIFA World Champions certificate in the event of a victory.
Additionally, Manchester City will be allowed to wear the prestigious gold FIFA Club World Cup badge on their shirt if Guardiola’s side can bring the silverware back to the Etihad Stadium.
However, the treble winners are barred from wearing the gold emblem in the Premier League.
(Correction: The Premier League have since made the surprise decision to allow the FIFA Champions Badge to be worn by Manchester City)
Manchester City will also be awarded a set of gold medals to distribute amongst the 23-man squad.
2023 FIFA Club World Cup prize money
Furthermore, Manchester City will receive prize money if they win the FIFA Club World Cup – although the exact amount is yet to be revealed for this season’s edition of the competition.
Last term, it was Real Madrid who won the FIFA Club World Cup – earning a prize fund of £4.4m, according to Sporting News – so we would assume the same figure will be awarded.

Unlike in the UEFA Champions League, the winner of the FIFA Club World Cup does not receive automatic entry into the next edition of the competition.
However, Manchester City have already booked their spot in the next FIFA Club World Cup anyway due to the UEFA Champions League win, as FIFA are expanding the competition to 32 teams.
Judging by an interesting sight in the background of footage posted by Manchester City earlier this season, the Citizens are seemingly confident of victory in Saudi Arabia this month.
