‘Will find a way’… Paul Merson reckons Wolves will do something against Man City that they haven’t done in ‘their last few games’

Manchester City have the chance to take a step closer to winning another Premier League title this weekend.

With the October international break now over, City will be taking on Wolves at Molineux on Sunday afternoon for their latest Premier League match.

City head into this game in second place with 17 points on the board having won five and drawn two of their seven played league matches.

In comparison, Gary O’Neil’s side currently sit rock bottom of the table after having lost six and drawn one of their games.

Their latest match prior to the international break saw the Old Gold lose 5-3 to Brentford, whereas City secured a 3-2 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

In the build-up to this match at Molineux, one pundit has made a claim about how Wolves could change their usual style of play to try and avoid another defeat at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s team.

Merson drops prediction for Man City vs Wolves

For his latest column shared on the Sportskeeda website where he previewed and predicted the scores for this weekend’s league fixtures, Paul Merson said this about how he feels Wolves will change their game plan against City.

He said: “I doubt Wolves can keep City out for long. I feel Wolves will keep it tight at the back compared to their last few games, but Pep Guardiola’s men will find a way, like they almost always do. 0-2”

Guardiola shared double injury update ahead of Wolves clash

In his latest press conference, Guardiola gave this injury update concerning Nathan Ake and Kevin De Bruyne and their potential availability for the Wolves game.

He said: “I don’t think so. No. Not ready. They are training and in the last part and yesterday Nathan did his first training with the team. Maybe can travel but to start is not ready.”

With Wolves having the joint-second-highest total of shots on target faced in the league this season, it’s clear that they are defensively susceptible.

Then bearing in mind how City have scored more goals (17) and registered more shots at goal (134) and shots on target (48) than any other side in the division, this makes it easy to see why Merson thinks Wolves may take a more defensive approach to Sunday’s game.
