David James has moved to highlight Ederson after Manchester City’s win over West Ham United yesterday.
City have gone back to the top of the Premier League after beating David Moyes’ side 3-1 at the London Stadium.
James Ward-Prowse gave the hosts the lead.
But City came back through Jeremy Doku – who was received a lot of praise following the game – Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.
It was a tough game for City and Irons goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was on top form.
In the end, it was a relatively comfortable margin of victory.
But James has pointed the a couple of crucial saves from Ederson that allowed City to go on and win the game…

Most of the talk since yesterday’s game has been about Doku.

The Belgian was explosive and exciting.
But Ederson came in clutch a couple of times before City mounted their comeback, and James has moved to give the Brazilian the credit he deserves.
He said on City’s Matchday Live coverage of the game: “I think that’s the best City have been this season, from everyone, including Ederson which sounds slightly ironic. Ederson made two or three wonderful saves.
“West Ham essentially did everything West Ham would have expected to do in the game. The header from Zouma was a superb save. Big strong left hand to put it round the post. That goes in, that’s essentially what West Ham are waiting for. The next one was the one-on-one (vs Antonio). Those two moments, if Ederson had not been as good as he was, then West Ham get the rewards they’re after.”
Brilliant from Ederson
In the end City won the game with relative ease.
But Guardiola’s side had a platform to build thanks to Ederson.
The £35 million star did make two very important saves yesterday which kept the contest in the balance.

Had West Ham gone back ahead, then we may well now be sat here talking about City dropping points.
Often Ederson doesn’t get the same level of credit as the outfield players at City.
But he is truly a top goalkeeper, and he was hugely important yesterday.
