Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb has suggested a loan move doesn’t particularly appeal to him, and that he would love to stay at the club for his whole career.
Bobb has emerged as another fantastic talent at City, making his first-team debut for the club earlier this season.
Bobb had long impressed in City’s academy, and had been named the EDS Player of the Season for two years running.
He was promoted to the first-team by Pep Guardiola ahead of 2023/24 and so far, Bobb has managed to catch the eye across a handful of appearances. Bobb has turned out seven times so far for 175 minutes on the pitch.
It is brilliant for the fans to get to watch another top young talent emerging at the club, and Bobb has revealed there was never any talk of him heading out on loan for this season…

Bobb has been on international duty with Norway, and the winger gave an interview with Dagbladet about his season so far.
He was also asked some questions about the national team, having recently made his debut for Stale Solbakken’s side.
It is clear that Bobb – who impressed against the Faroe Islands last weekend – is really happy being at City right now, and the youngster looks to have his sights set on a very long stay.
He said: “It wasn’t that this summer (loan exit). That’s not the way I want to go. You never know. But I’d rather be at City. That would be cool (to stay at City forever).
Bobb was also asked about the potential for him to sign a contract extension with the club, but he isn’t sure what’s happening with that yet.
Bobb has the talent to spend many years at City
It is lovely to hear Bobb talking like this given he has only just burst onto the scene. Clearly, he really loves playing for City and has really valued his time at the club so far.
It is no easy feat to spend your whole career at one club, and Bobb – described as ‘fantastic’ on the ball by Arsenal maestro Martin Odegaard – will have to work his socks off in order to achieve that. But there is no denying how high his potential is.
If he grinds every single day, then he may well finish his career as a one-club man.
But should he live up to his amazing potential, there will likely be moments in his career where other clubs come calling, so we shall see how things pan out.
