Tomas Soucek has now made the suggestion that he would not like to see West Ham United teammate Lucas Paqueta sign for Manchester City.

Speaking to the Evening Standard after the Irons’ 1-1 draw against Bournemouth, he gave his two cents on the Brazilian’s uncertain future.

Tomas Soucek admitted that he personally dreams that Manchester City target Lucas Paqueta continues his spell at West Ham United.

Tomas Soucek suggests he does not want Lucas Paqueta to make Manchester City move

That may be easier said than done as it has been reported on Tuesday that the Hammers would be willing to sell the 25-year-old to the Sky Blues for a total ÂŁ80 million fee (ÂŁ70 million plus ÂŁ10 million in achievable add-ons).

Even David Moyes admitted that it is a challenge telling the former Lyon attacker to simply not join a club of the stature of the treble-winners.

However, it seems Tomas Soucek and those at West Ham are hoping and praying that Lucas Paqueta does not sign for Manchester City for the time being.

“I wish him all the best wherever he goes. I like to play next to him, he does incredible things and I would like him to stay. He can do passes nobody else can see, a proper Brazilian footballer”, he said.

It seems like Lucas Paqueta could be in sky blue imminently

All the soundings from West Ham, whether it be from David Moyes or Tomas Soucek indicate that Lucas Paqueta could become a Manchester City player sooner rather than later.

After all, while the Europa Conference League winners may drive a hard bargain, they must also realise that it is impossible to stop Paqueta from dreaming of joining the Sky Blues.

When one of the greatest teams of all time with a manager of Pep Guardiola’s standing in the game come in for your player, it is more than likely that he will be tempted to make the move in an instant.
