David Moyes has now admitted that it is a challenge telling Lucas Paqueta that he cannot join a club of the stature of Manchester City.

As relayed by The Athletic, the West Ham United made an honest admission about the potential transfer amidst the ongoing saga.

Instead of simply claiming that Lucas Paqueta is not for sale, he did just admit that it is tough informing him that he cannot sign for a club as massive as Manchester City just for the sake of keeping him.

Now, David Moyes has made an honest admission about the Lucas Paqueta and his desire to make a move to Manchester City.

“We wouldn’t want Lucas [Paqueta] to go. But I also understand if you were in his position. Sometimes it’s quite difficult to say to these boys, ‘Sorry, you can’t join Manchester City or Real Madrid,’ they are two of the biggest clubs in the world.”

If West Ham and David Moyes had no intention to sell Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City, they would likely have even played hardball in the press.

Instead, it seems the Scotsman is resigned to the fact when the treble-winners come calling, one has no choice but to let their player leave.

While the Hammers are expected to drive a hard bargain before bidding farewell to the versatile midfielder, it is evident that they are aware that a deal is likelier than not to get over the line.
