Ange Postecoglou has said that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is such an incredible manager that is impossible to even copy him.

Speaking to Optus Sport, the newly-appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager, who branded the Spaniard as an ‘unbelievable’ coach gave his views on him once again.

Ange Postecoglou emphasised that one cannot even try to emulate Pep Guardiola, as managers like him are special due to how individualistic their philosophy is.

Described as an ‘amazing manager’ by Mateo Kovacic as well, the Catalan boss’ unprecedented impact on the sport since becoming Barcelona boss in 2008 commands respect.

Winning 11 out of 14 campaigns in total, two trebles, three Champions Leagues and transforming the landscape of football, most recently in England, Guardiola is universally lauded as a legend of the game.

Ange Postecoglou laid emphasis on the fact that it is key for every manager, including him to do what they do best than try to copy another coach’s methods, such as Pep Guardiola.

“There’s no carbon copy out there and you can’t just…copy what Pep does. Pep does so well because it’s him. You can’t copy that. And that’s the challenge for all of us managers is how do we bed our own principles into the way we want to play, understanding that the competition is going to be as challenging as you can get and [I’m] looking forward to that.”

Pep Guardiola commands respect from the best

Whilst several fans and pundits alike question Pep Guardiola to this very day, those working within the game like Ange Postecoglou realise how generational a manager he is and has been for 15 years.

Not only is the 52-year-old a serial winner but as last season showed, he is a tactical genius, capable of conjuring magic out of thin air, as he ripped up his ideas early into the campaign for a new vision and went on to become the only coach in history to have won two trebles.

The biggest compliment that modern-day coaches and teams have paid to Guardiola is acknowledging the brilliance of his tactical ideas and embedding them into their own teams across the planet.
