Manchester City have seen many players leave the club over the years.
For example, the previous summer transfer window saw Ilkay Gundogan, Cole Palmer, Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez wave goodbye to the Etihad Stadium to start new chapters elsewhere.
This current summer transfer window has seen some other City players bring an end to their time at the Manchester club and join new sides.
One of which is Sergio Gomez, who has recently made a move to Real Sociedad in a deal worth £8.4m (via BBC Sport).
Now though, the defender has shared a message with the City supporters ahead of his next career step.

Sergio Gomez shares farewell message to Man City fans
After his move to Sociedad was officially announced, Gomez took to social media to share this message to the City supporters on his X account.
He said: “Two unforgettable years with @mancity. We have won titles, lived unique experiences and fulfilled dreams. Defending the badge of a club that I have always loved is priceless.
“I will continue cheering from afar because this club is part of my heart! Forever grateful!”
Gomez needed to leave City
Back in the 2022 summer transfer window, City paid £11m to sign the Spaniard from Anderlecht.
During his time at the Manchester club, the 23-year-old made just 38 appearances across all competitions, starting just 14 of them.
With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that he has made a move away from City in the hope of getting more game time, despite him saying last year that he has enjoyed working with Guardiola.
Now that he has shared this emotional farewell message on social media, this showcases how much he appreciated being part of the club during such a successful period.
Moving forward, everyone at City will undoubtedly be hoping that Gomez’s move to Sociedad works out well for him.
