With the 2025/2026 Premier League season set to kick off in about two weeks, fans and pundits alike will be starting to predict which team out of Liverpool, Arsenal or Manchester City will win the title.
Pep Guardiola is considered a serial winner and the prospect of the two-time treble-winning manager failing to win the league two campaigns in a row seems unthinkable.
However, with Liverpool and Arsenal splashing the cash this summer despite finishing above City in the league table last season, it would take a brave man to rule either team out in the title race as well.
Ilkay Gundogan believes in this Manchester City side to challenge for the title as the German revealed the dressing room back themselves to do so as well.
Man United’s Benjamin Sesko pursuit could scupper Liverpool’s Alexander Isak chase
When it comes to Arne Slot’s side in particular, a valid concern for City fans could be Liverpool’s interest in signing Alexander Isak, a player who seems set to take most sides in the league to the next level.
ESPN revealed that a £150 million offer would prompt Newcastle United to sell the Swede to the Reds.
However, the Daily Mail have reported that if Newcastle miss out to Manchester United in the race to sign Benjamin Sesko, they will refuse to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool or any other club for the matter.

The report mentions that Eddie Howe’s side have maintained that they will only let go of the 26-year-old if it suits them.
Liverpool could still sign Alexander Isak on one condition
While Manchester City would be hoping that Manchester United land Sesko over Newcastle and scupper Liverpool’s plans of signing Isak, the Premier League champions’ hopes of securing his services may still not be dead in the water.
The report has revealed that in case the RB Leipzig frontman signs for United, Newcastle have three alternatives in place.
- Ollie Watkins
- Rodrigo Muniz
- Yoane Wissa
If the Magpies sign either of the three goalscorers, they perhaps could be willing to let Isak leave this summer.
Pep Guardiola would perhaps advise his Manchester City side not to focus on their domestic rivals and instead, place their focus on being the best team possible next season.
