Ruben Dias reviewed Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal, as he went on to praise Erling Haaland and another of his teammates after the contest.
The Portuguese international would have every reason to be disappointed about the result as Pep Guardiola’s men were a few minutes away from winning the game.
However, Gabriel Martinelli scored the all-important equaliser for Arsenal as City’s defence was caught out by a long ball from Eberechi Eze.
The positives for City will be that they dug deep and managed to go toe-to-toe with Mikel Arteta’s side, who have looked far more convincing than them this campaign.
Haaland is becoming a leader at Manchester City and his latest heroics justify why he was lauded by Dias.
Ruben Dias praises Jeremy Doku after Arsenal vs Man City
The likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jeremy Doku also stood out against Arsenal.
Donnarumma’s positioning for Martinelli’s goal can be called into question as he rushed off his line despite the Brazilian not being in a particularly dangerous position but as for Doku, he was sublime against Arsenal.
Speaking to Manchester City’s official website after his side shared the spoils with Arsenal, Ruben Dias heaped praise on both Doku and Haaland: “Between many others, special shout out to both of them. They did an amazing game, an amazing performance, amazing performance, the way they fought, they inspire us to follow them.”

“It’s the only way to pull it off in the Premier League in this context and because of that, big shout to them, the way they fought, the way they did everything, the way they behaved today.”
Jeremy Doku is reaping the rewards in a new role for Man City
Doku’s electric display against Arsenal did not come as much of a surprise in some ways, considering he stole the show for Manchester City against Napoli and Manchester United as well recently.
However, it seems like the 23-year-old is reaping the rewards from playing in a more central role this season.
On another day, Dias would have praised Doku and Haaland even more had the Norwegian converted the Belgian’s terrific through ball in the second half, which may have handed Manchester City the win against Arsenal.
In recent games, the former Rennes winger’s best moments have come in central areas, such as his assist against Manchester United, his goal against Napoli and when he took on the hosts’ players for fun.
