Manchester City are set to see one of their key figures leave the club at the end of the season.
Specifically, Txiki Begiristain is set to leave City in the summer having spent 12 years at the Etihad Stadium as the club’s sporting director.
Another figure who could be leaving City at the same time is Pep Guardiola, who has spent eight years in charge of the Blues.
With the 53-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of June, there’s a chance he could follow Begiristain out the door.
Taking that possibility into account, a pundit has now named someone who could potentially be the person to replace Guardiola in the near future.

Alan Brazil names Vincent Kompany as Pep Guardiola’s heir at Man City
In a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Alan Brazil said this when asked who could become City’s next manager if Guardiola leaves the club when his current contract expires in the summer.
He said: “I was going to say Vincent Kompany if he does really well in 18 months, he might be the ideal replacement.”
Guardiola has already backed Kompany to manage City
After spending two years in charge of Burnley, Kompany was appointed as Bayern Munich’s manager back in May.
Following this appointment, journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed on his official X account that the former City defender could be picking up a maximum yearly wage of €9m (£7.5m).
With nine games under his belt as Bayern’s boss across all competitions, Kompany has seen his side win six, draw two and lose one, scoring 33 goals and conceding 10 along the way.
In terms of potentially managing the Blues in the future, Guardiola said this on Kompany becoming City’s manager.
He said: “He will be back sooner or later, so I think his destiny is to become a manager of Man City it is written in the stars. It is going to happen I don’t know when but it will.
“I said sooner or later, he will be manager for City, when I don’t know but I am pretty sure.
“No [I have not spoken to him about it]. It is my feeling, maybe I am wrong.
“His work ethic, knowledge of the game, a lot of respect, experience doing what he has done is so difficult and he is doing it really, really well. He knows the club, the environment, our fans and what our people need.
“The destiny is there.”
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Brazil thinks the former City captain could end up being the man to take the reins from Guardiola.
However, with Brazil also mentioning that Kompany potentially being offered the City job if he has a successful time at Bayern will surely be something the club’s hierarchy takes into account when it comes to looking for a new manager.
