Ally McCoist names the big difference he has spotted between Man City’s Jack Grealish and Alexander Isak

The futures of Jack Grealish and Alexander Isak have been two major storylines during the current transfer window.

Grealish is set to join Everton this week ahead of the new Premier League season, as it became clear that the winger was not part of Pep Guardiola’s plans after the legendary coach left the 29-year-old out of his squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.

As for Alexander Isak, the striker has made it clear that he does not want to play for Newcastle any more and is trying to force a move to Liverpool before the summer transfer window shuts; however, the Magpies are not willing to let the Swedish star go easily.

Speaking about both players, Ally McCoist has noticed a big difference between the duo this summer, with the pundit stating that he has been impressed by the Man City winger.

Ally McCoist praises the behaviour of Jack Grealish

Grealish has been out of Guardiola’s plans for some time now as the Englishman rarely started for Man City last season, but throughout this, the 29-year-old has handled himself impressively.

McCoist has been praising Grealish for not throwing his toys out of the pram in recent months, which is the total opposite of how Isak has conducted himself, with his behaviour not going down well with the pundit.

“To his eternal credit, he’s [Grealish] kept his mouth shut and not moaned. He’s never moaned once. You know, you see a lot of them now, you look at [Alexander] Isak, for example, who I don’t think’s handled himself well at all,” McCoist said on talkSPORT.

“Tremendous player, absolutely out of this world, no doubt about it. Best centre forward, I think, probably maybe even the planet last year, the way he was playing. He’s harboured that move, and it is as if he’s kind of thrown his toys out of the pram and saying ‘I want to go here’.

“Jack’s never opened his mouth when he was not in the team. He could have easily thrown his toys out of the pram and said, ‘I want to be playing, I need to get away’ and do this, and do that. He’s not done that.

“He has shut up, he’s done his work. He deserves his move. Go over there [To Everton] and go play, wee man.”

Jack Grealish did everything to make Everton move happen

Back in June, Thomas Tuchel advised Grealish to seek a club where he would get more minutes throughout the 25/26 campaign, as that is the only way the winger would work his way into the German’s plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the Daily Mail, Grealish was aware of his situation with regards to England and went “above and beyond” to make his loan move to Everton happen, where he will have a key role throughout the upcoming season.

The Man City winger has taken a big pay cut and made sacrifices to move to the Merseyside club, which is refreshing to see, as many players in the modern game would not make a move to simply play football.
