Danny Murphy strongly believes Erling Haaland is simply the best striker in the world.
After Haaland’s five goal-massacre of Luton Town in his side’s 6-2 victory, there has been an outpouring of praise that has come his way off the back of his heroics.
Roy Keane hailed the 23-year-old as a “machine” while also dubbing him as a “natural goalscorer.”
Danny Murphy says Erling Haaland is the best striker in the world
Mateo Kovacic admitted after the contest that he has never seen a finisher like the Norwegian superstar in his career.
While Pep Guardiola praised the former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer for being “on fire” on Tuesday night.
However, Danny Murphy confidently claimed that Erling Haaland is the best striker in world football.

“[Manchester City have] Got the best striker in the world. Bar none”, he said on talkSPORT.
Danny Murphy was asked whether Erling Haaland has any weaknesses in his game.
“Yeah, of course. He’s not someone who wants to come deep and link and play around corners. He’s not a passer. He’s not going to drop in like [Harry] Kane and split the defence with a beautiful through ball. Of course, there’s things he can’t do.”
“The things he has to do to be the best striker in the world, he does amazingly well. He’s ruthless in front of goal, he’s powerful in the air, he scores all types of goals, he’s disciplined, hungry, he’s a wonderful talent.”
Erling Haaland seems to understand his limitations
In September two years ago, the Leeds-born striker told beIN SPORTS that his “biggest dream” is to touch the ball time five times in a game and score five goals.
As Danny Murphy claimed, as far as being a pure striker goes, Erling Haaland is the best in the business, as his focus seems to be centred around aspects like his movement, positioning and finishing.
Facets of the game that ensure that he scores as many goals as possible.
However, other strikers seem to pine for being constantly involved in proceedings.
For instance, Harry Kane enjoys dropping deeper and picking passes for Bayern Munich and England.
But where the drawback emerges for his teams is that on several occasions, he is not stationed inside the box to convert goalscoring opportunities.
Erling Haaland, on the contrary, seems to grasp the fact that above everything else, he is a thoroughbred goalscorer instead of being immensely gifted technically like say, Sergio Aguero or Karim Benzema.
As a result, Haaland stays in his line, scores a boatload of goals and does what it says on the tin better than other strikers are supposed to.
