Bernardo Silva is one of the most technically gifted players at Manchester City and across world football.
Eberechi Eze once praised Bernardo by naming him as one of the Premier League’s best dribblers.
In May 2022, Kyle Walker named Bernardo as one of City’s three best technicians as well on Timbsy’s YouTube channel alongside Riyad Mahrez and Oleksandr Zinchenko at the time.
Bukayo Saka also lauded Bernardo’s first touch as the best out of any player at Euro 2024.
While Luis Figo claimed Bernardo is Portugal’s most skilful player as well.
The Manchester City attacker’s outstanding technical ability seems to be widely recognised by his teammates, fellow players and pundits.

Bernardo Silva says “unbelievable” Phil Foden is the most skilful player at Man City
As a result, the 30-year-old is perhaps the prime candidate at assessing any player’s skills.
Having signed for Pep Guardiola’s side, the Portuguese international has played with a whole host of remarkable technicians at the club.
However, in an interview with Pro: Direct Soccer, Bernardo named Phil Foden as the most skilful player at Manchester City.
“In terms of skills, before I would say, like [Riyad] Mahrez as well. But Phil [Foden] is up there, definitely.”
“But Phil is unbelievable honestly and he just looks like a kid in a garden so that’s why Phil.”
Jordan Henderson claimed Foden is England’s most technically gifted player as well — labelling him as “incredible.”
Jamie Carragher once compared Foden to Zinedine Zidane and Andres Iniesta due to his “first touch, control and balletic movement in tight spaces.”
While Kevin De Bruyne described Foden as “one of the greatest talents” he has ever seen during his career.
The £225,000-a-week midfielder’s long list of admirers happen to be current and former top players.
What Lionel Messi wanted Sergio Aguero to tell him about Foden
Apart from Bernardo, another fleet-footed left-footer in Lionel Messi seems to be a fan of the 24-year-old as well.
So much so that it was reported in November last year that Messi and Javier Mascherano asked Sergio Aguero about Foden and how he is getting along at Manchester City.
It was also revealed that Aguero and David Silva are two senior players who took the six-time Premier League winner under their wings when he first broke into City’s first-team.
Another Barcelona legend in Andres Iniesta admitted he is a “fan” of Foden after he won the PFA Players’ Player of the Season this year.
It is telling that greats like Messi, Mascherano and Iniesta seemingly rate the silky attacker very highly.
Foden must be inspired by the number of legendary figures who have shown their support towards him and that could be a reason why he never seems to cease in his attempts to try becoming the best version of himself.
