It’s been a tough week for Manchester City but they will have to bounce back quickly when they take on Bournemouth at the weekend.
Manchester City crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday after losing 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur but the defeat was the least of Pep Guardiola’s worries.
The Blues boss specifically asked for ‘no injuries, please’ before the game but he did not get his wish, with Manuel Akanji pulling up in the warm-up before the game even started.
Savinho was then stretchered off with an ankle injury as the casualties continue to mount and City are now working with a severely depleted squad for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City team news
Pep Guardiola was somewhat coy on the club’s latest injury news during his pre-match press conference.
“Tomorrow you will know it,” said the City boss. “You will see it, the list. I have many doubts, most of them, half-half. Tomorrow you will know it.”
He did confirm that Savinho had avoided a serious injury and had previously ruled Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, Jermey Doku and Kyle Walker out until after the international break, while Oscar Bobb and Rodri remain long-term absentees.
Bournemouth with be without Kepa Arrizabalaga, Luis Sinisterra and Alex Scott, while Dango Ouattara is a major doubt. Philip Billing is available to return from illness.

Predictions
Guardiola will be lucky if he can scrap a starting XI of senior stars together on Saturday unless he fancies playing Scott Carson on the wing.
It’s looking like it will be a thrown-together starting XI with at least a couple of youngsters involved but that doesn’t mean they can’t get a result.
The Blues might have lost to Spurs but they put up a good fight and could have just as easily gone through on another day.
In a Premier League match where the stakes are much higher, you can see the team still being up for the challenge.
Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 Man City
