Legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo has branded Manchester City star Erling Haaland ‘one of the best in the world’, as he was asked if he’d like to see him join Real Madrid.
Haaland has been heavily linked with the Spanish giants for the last few years now, and it is no secret that they like him.
Last week, Haaland was actually asked about his future in a press conference, and the Norwegian admitted that while he was very happy at City, he said that ‘you never know’ what can happen in football.
The general feeling for most people is that Haaland will one day make a switch to the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo is hopeful that the current City number nine will indeed make that move…

Haaland has a contract with City until the summer of 2027.
There has been some talk about a potential new contract for Haaland at the Etihad Stadium, but there haven’t been any developments recently.
City fans will hope that he pens fresh terms, although him doing so may only happen if the club insert a suitable release clause.
We will see if Haaland does make a move to Real one day, but Ronaldo – who played for the Spanish giants from 2002 to 2007 – would love him to come.
He told the Daily Mail: “I think Real Madrid’s policy is to have the best players in the world. Haaland is one of the best. Of course, everybody wants to have Haaland.
“But I think he’s in an unbelievable club – City is doing an amazing job. I think he’s very happy there. But we will see. I hope we can see those players (Haaland and Jude Bellingham) together in one club.”
Haaland won’t join Real Madrid any time soon
It must be nice for Haaland to hear such an absolute legend of the game speak about him in this way.
Ronaldo is easily one of the best number nines of all-time, and you would imagine the football-obsessed Haaland will have probably watched many clips of him in his pomp.
Haaland going to Real Madrid does have an inevitable feel to it.
But realistically it isn’t going to happen any time soon, especially with Kylian Mbappe set to join them this summer.
