Manchester City’s squad could be looking very different next season, but one youngster seemingly won’t yet be a part of it.
It has been a very tough season for Manchester City in 2024/25, and fans are fully expecting a revamp in the next transfer window.
Pep Guardiola already made headway with that in January, with four new players coming in: Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez.
But there will be plenty of outgoings this summer. It’s been suggested that at least seven senior stars could leave Manchester City.
As much as fans expect there to be new signings, it will be intriguing to see if any players currently out on loan will get a chance next season.
Callum Doyle has played well out on for Norwich and may well be an option.
But someone who doesn’t seem likely to be playing any part for City next term is Maximo Perrone, with a new claim being made about the midfielder.
Como 1907 want to extend Maximo Perrone loan from Man City

This season Maximo Perrone – who City signed for £8 million from Velez Sarsfeld (BBC Sport) – has been on loan at Italian club Como.
He played for Las Palmas last season and impressed in Spain. And this term he’s had a taste of Italian football – and seemingly done quite well.
Como have now secured their top-flight status for next term, which represents a successful first season in charge for head coach Cesc Fabregas.
Perrone has been a regular for Como, making 22 appearances for the club so far. He would have had more to his name, but he picked up an injury earlier in the campaign.
And Perrone has clearly made an impression on Fabregas, because Tuttomercatoweb are now reporting Como want to take up their option to have Perrone on loan again for next season.
But it’s suggested there is always interest from Inter Milan, so it remains to be seen where he’ll play his football next season.
Perrone keen to stay at Como
We will see if Inter come in with a permanent bid for Perrone.
But a move back to Como on loan does seem a more likely outcome, with the player talking up staying a couple of months ago.
Perrone suggested he’s likely to stay at Como, admitting: “There are agents, representatives, I don’t know anything. As far as I’m concerned, I want to stay here, grow and learn more with Como.
“I want to give a hand to my teammates and I’m happy to stay with Cesc. I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope my future is here with Como.”
With City having already signed Gonzalez in January, and Rodri set to return from injury, and new recruits potentially coming in, it makes sense for Perrone to stay out on loan.
