Manchester City seem set to generate a lot of revenue from sales this window.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already sold Sergio Gomez and Liam Delap for £8.4 million (BBC Sport) and Liam Delap in a £20 million (Sky Sports) deal while Julian Alvarez is rumoured to be on his way out of the club as well.

Journalist David Ornstein also claimed on Monday that Atletico Madrid look set to sign Alvarez for £70 million now.

Last month, it was reported that Fulham and Everton are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips as well.

Manchester City seem to get better and better at selling players as each summer transfer window come around.

This summer, while transfer activity seems inactive on the incomings side of things for City, it could be possible that the club’s focus is to place their attention on their outgoings.

For any club to build their ideal squad, it is important for them to identify the players they are happy to let go of.

Ultimately, every player present at the club should either be in place to help them fulfil their short or long-term objectives.

The Sky Blues seem extremely cognizant of the importance of this very policy.

Middlesbrough look set to strike permanent deal for Man City’s Micah Hamilton

Surprisingly, one player who seemed set to become a regular first-team player for Manchester City one day in Micah Hamilton has now been linked with a move to Middlesbrough.

So much so that The Athletic have reported that the Championship club are in “advanced talks” to sign the 20-year-old on a permanent basis.

The report states that “positive discussions” have taken place between both clubs in a potential move for the youngster — as agreeing personal terms is not believed to be a hurdle in the rumoured deal.

A medical for Hamilton is claimed to have been scheduled before he becomes a Middlesbrough player.

Michael Carrick’s side were keen on bolstering their squad in the summer transfer window.

Man City should insert buy-back clause if Micah Hamilton joins Middlesbrough

It seems like Manchester City would be happy to let Hamilton join Middlesbrough.

However, it would be wise for City to push for the insertion of a buy-back clause if the deal goes through.

Hamilton, hailed as “creative” and one who will go “a very long way in football” by Shaun Wright-Phillips is an extremely talented attacker, capable of playing on both flanks and as a number 10.

The Englishman has looked the part every time he has been given a chance in the first-team.

The highly-rated forward’s speed, trickery and versatility also makes him a huge talent.

As a result, Manchester City would be best-placed to cover their tracks and only finalise a deal if a buy-back clause is included in the contract.

It would be interesting to discover how Middlesbrough if City made such a request.
