Manchester City will look to reach a third FA Cup final in a row on Sunday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola’s men travel to Wembley to take on Nottingham Forest with the FA Cup being the last domestic trophy the Manchester club can win this season having experienced a very underwhelming campaign by their standards.
Phil Foden has put Man City’s struggles down to fatigue after competing at the highest level for so many years but this season can be salvaged with Guardiola’s men winning their third FA Cup under the legendary coach, in addition to a second FIFA Club World Cup and qualification for the Champions League.
Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, are having a dream season and BBC pundit Chris Sutton has now shared whether he thinks Man City can beat Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.

Chris Sutton predicts Nottingham Forest vs Man City
Man City are currently on a run of seven games unbeaten, which was extended thanks to Matheus Nunes’ late winner against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
The last team to beat Guardiola’s men was Nottingham Forest at the start of March, with BBC pundit Chris Sutton critical of Man City’s ‘inconsistency’ after the 1-0 defeat.
Sutton has now predicted Man City’s upcoming FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest and the pundit expects a good day for Guardiola’s men.
“I just have a feeling that City are going to put in a good performance here, and earn the right to reach their third straight FA Cup final,” Sutton stated via the BBC.
“As much I hate to say it, I am expecting Pep to find a way to win, the same way they did against Everton and Aston Villa – although I hope I am wrong. My predictions are so bad at the moment, there is a good chance I will be.”
Sutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Man City in normal time, which is a result fans of the Manchester club will be more than happy to take back with them up north.
Bernardo Silva shares Man City’s motivation for Nottingham Forest clash
Bernardo Silva believes winning the FA Cup does not make this season a successful one for Man City as the Portuguese star is still unhappy with how much the Premier League champions have fallen in recent months.
However, the midfielder is keen to add another FA Cup medal to his collection and has stated that reaching a third final in a row is what’s motivating Guardiola’s squad ahead of facing Nottingham Forest at the weekend, while reflecting on last season’s defeat in the final to Manchester United.
“Last year, it wasn’t the greatest final that we played – I don’t like to make excuses but I think the team was very relieved after the title race to win the Premier League and we dropped our level a little bit in that final,” said Silva to the FA.
“We want to be there again to come back and try and win this trophy again. We can make it three finals in a row.”
This week was always going to be one of the biggest in Man City’s season and having done the first job by beating Aston Villa on Tuesday night, the Manchester club will take confidence into the Nottingham Forest clash on Sunday.
