Despite their wealth and success, Manchester City have occasionally missed out on some transfer targets.
The Citizens wanted Declan Rice before his move to Arsenal, while Pep Guardiola was also keen to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester until Manchester United bid £85m for the Englishman.
Those were the headline deals Txiki Begiristain failed to complete, although the Spaniard more than made amends through the signings of gems such as Rodri, Erling Haaland, Josko Gvardiol and others.
Now, however, with Hugo Viana in place as the new Director of Football, Manchester City could be about to embark on the easiest transfer negotiations they ever will.
Juventus considering the sale of Nicolo Savona to Manchester City
Manchester City are keen to sign Nicolo Savona from Juventus, after the Italian impressed Guardiola by keeping Jeremy Doku quiet in the 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over the Citizens back in December.
Now, Calciomercato have provided an interesting update.
The Italian news outlet write that Juventus ideally need to raise at least €50m (£42m) this summer if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and even if that does happen, the financial situation at the Allianz Stadium is far from perfect anyway.

As a result, Juventus sense an opportunity to improve the situation by selling Savona to Manchester City, as the defender is an academy graduate, and his sale would represent 100% profit in the accounts.
The Old Lady value the 22-year-old at €25m (£20m), with Calciomercato writing that an offer in this region will be seriously considered.
Hugo Viana could sign two players from the same club
Savona is not the only player in Turin who Guardiola admires.
Manchester City also want to sign Andrea Cambiaso as a replacement for Kyle Walker, the Italy international who plays at left-back for Juventus, but can also operate on the right, where Savona plays.
Therefore, Viana could actually seal a double deal from Juventus in his first summer as Director of Football.
