Cole Palmer has said that Pep Guardiola taught him “everything” about football.

The Chelsea technician revealed that Guardiola taught him several fundamentals about how to play the game during an interview with Sky Sports (via YouTube).

Recently, the Englishman admitted that he had no intention of leaving City.

Palmer added that he was given an ultimatum of sorts by the Sky Blues to either stay or leave in the summer, while his intention was to join another club on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old has arguably been Chelsea’s ultimate difference-maker this season, despite them undergoing yet another difficult campaign.

Jamie Carragher went on to select the former Manchester City winger in his Premier League Team of The Season as well.

Now, Cole Palmer gave an insight into some of the key lessons he learned under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.

Patrick Davidson asked, “Did he teach you a lot, Pep [Guardiola]?”

“Yeah, [Pep Guardiola taught me] everything. Just like what foot to pass with, what to control with, just stuff like that, do you know what I mean?”, he said on Sky Sports.

“But like a simple but a so effective way.”

Pep Guardiola has had a massive say in the Chelsea poster-boy’s success

The £378,846-a-week manager is known to rewire a player’s approach to the game, whether that be a new signing or a young prospect.

The same has been the case with Cole Palmer, as it seems Pep Guardiola played a huge role in his adaptation to becoming a regular starter in the Premier League.

While several top players at Chelsea have struggled this season, Palmer has revelled in his role as his team’s protagonist.

With Cole Palmer being a precocious talent, his success does not come as a huge surprise but even so, being coached by one of, if not the best manager in the world has helped him develop into the player he is.
