Concerning statistic now emerges about ‘incredible’ £35m Man City star with 10 PL games to go

Manchester City are battling for a fourth straight Premier League title – and a surprisingly poor statistic has emerged about one Etihad star.

Pep Guardiola‘s side are chasing history. No other club has ever won four Premier League titles in a row.

It will be a very difficult feat to achieve because the challenges from Liverpool and Arsenal this season are very strong.

City may need to be perfect between now and the end of the season if they are to win the league, and everyone is going to have to be on top form.

Ideally, there will be a slight improvement in Ederson going forward, with one slightly concerning statistic emerging about the City number one today…

This season, Ederson has once again been City’s regular between the sticks.

Of course, at the moment, he is injured after going in for a challenge with Darwin Nunez in the game with Liverpool.

He’s made 27 appearances for City so far – but he has probably been a level below last season when he put in so many top displays en route to the Treble.

Ederson’s kicking and distribution remain top drawer.

But worryingly, Ederson – described earlier this season as ‘incredible’ by Josko Gvardiol – currently has the lowest save percentage of goalkeepers in the Premier League to have made over 20 appearances in the competition.

As per WhoScored, he has a rate of just 57.8% so far, which puts him lower than the likes of Sam Johnstone, Jose Sa, David Raya and James Trafford.

Ederson needs to improve shot-stopping

Ederson hasn’t been bad this season, although some pundits, like Julien Laurens and also Jamie Carragher, would dispute that.

But the £35 million signing from Benfica has undoubtedly not been performing at the same high level he was last season and City need him to find that level again once he’s back fit.

Him finding top form again could genuinely have a major bearing on how many trophies City win at the end of the season.

The Brazilian has been a wonderful signing for the club and fans will back him to improve his shot-stopping ahead of the business end of the season.
