Manchester City have a track record when it comes to signing players from fellow Premier League clubs.

Recent transfer windows have seen City secure deals for the likes of Matheus Nunes, Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovacic among others from various top-flight sides.

In this latest summer transfer window, Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked with current Premier League stars such as Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Now though, a big update has emerged regarding another top-flight figure who has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Chelsea agree deal to sign Man City target Pedro Neto

Following a recent report from The Telegraph mentioning that City have Wolves winger Pedro Neto on their transfer radar, David Ornstein relayed this update on his official X account originally shared by journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

He said: “BREAKING: Chelsea reach agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Pedro Neto. Fee €60m + €3m addons.

“24yo Portugal international winger set to undergo medical soon before completing transfer from #WWFC to #CFC @TheAthleticFC after @FabriceHawkins.”

City will have to forget about signing Neto now

During his time at Wolves, Neto, who said back in March he’s a big fan of Bernardo Silva, has racked up 135 appearances for the Midlands club across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and delivering 24 assists in the process.

With a move to Stamford Bridge now looking to be on the cards for the winger, City will have to forget about landing a deal for Neto.

Moving forward, with the summer transfer window set to close at the end of the month, it’ll be interesting to see if the Blues do end up signing a new player, especially with Julian Alvarez reportedly on his way to Atletico Madrid.
