Bernardo Silva is one of the best players in the world – and he has now come in for praise from Wolves star Pedro Neto in a new interview.

Bernardo is now into his seventh season at the Etihad Stadium, after joining the club from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017.

The 29-year-old is as popular as ever at City, as he continues to churn out terrific performances in sky blue regardless of the occasion.

On Sunday, Bernardo put in a typically brilliant performance in the Manchester Derby, leading pundit Dion Dublin to say that he actually inspired Pep Guardiola’s side to victory.

He remains an absolutely vital player for Pep due to his versatility, tactical understanding, leadership and work-rate – and it is not lost on Neto what a top player he is…

At this point, it is fairly safe to say that Bernardo is one of the top players in the game today.

City are the best team, and Bernardo is a player Pep always counts on and constantly praises. The manager has previously said that he is one of the best players he’s ever seen.

At one point last summer, it was touch and go whether Bernardo would stay at the Etihad, with the transfer speculation surrounding him strong again.

But he stayed put, and he’s had another terrific season on a personal level.

He is a player that fans just love to watch for how well he does all facets of the game, and he’s someone Wolves star Pedro Neto really looks up to.

He said in a new interview with journalist Pedro Pinto: “Obviously, you have to learn from any player. For example, players of that caliber. Bernardo, who is an unbelievable player, a player that when I did interviews in Italy, he played for Monaco.

“I admired him a lot, and I still admire. I continue to admire the way he plays.”

All players should look up to Bernardo Silva

It is nice to hear such comments from Neto about Bernardo Silva, who is someone all players should be looking to be like – even those who don’t play in the same positions as he does.

The £43 million signing just sets an amazing example.

Every time he steps out onto the pitch, he gives everything. He’s a technical genius, but one of the most admirable things about him is that, despite that, he loves to do the hard yards.

He has always been workmanlike and tenacious, and that is a major reason why he has been able to thrive in English football.

City are truly lucky to have a player like him, and it will be a tough day for fans when he finally departs the Etihad.
