Changes are coming to Man City this summer as Pep Guardiola looks to get his team back competing for the Premier League title.
The return of Rodri, in addition to some new signings, should give City the tools they need to challenge Liverpool and Arsenal throughout the 2025/26 campaign, but in order to achieve this, there will need to be exits.
Kyle Walker will bring his legendary career in Manchester to an end this summer, while there is also doubt over the future of Bernardo Silva at Man City, and it remains to be seen if Ederson sees out his contract at the Etihad Stadium following interest from Saudi Arabia last summer.
One pundit suggests a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad could be interested in joining Liverpool this summer after what he said about his future recently.

Liverpool could be an option for Kevin de Bruyne
Kevin de Bruyne was immense against Crystal Palace on Saturday as the Belgian reminded everyone what he can still do at the highest level, with the Man City star receiving high praise from Alan Shearer.
Jamie Carragher thinks De Bruyne is one of the best passers he has ever seen and there is no doubt he would love to have seen the midfielder at Liverpool throughout his legendary career.
After everything he has achieved at Man City, it is very unlikely that De Bruyne makes the switch to Anfield, despite being a fan of the Reds as a child.
Nevertheless, Don Hutchison thinks a move to Merseyside could be an option as the pundit is fascinated to see what the Man City legend does next.
“The big fascination is where does he go next? He hasn’t ruled out staying in the Premier League. That will be a fascination,” Hutchison told OPTUS Sport.
“He’s always said that he’s a Liverpool fan. Is there a scenario where Liverpool would take him and ask him to play one game a week? With his body, playing cup competitions, Champions League and Premier League could be difficult.”

Star who have played with both Man City and Liverpool
Man City and Liverpool have had an incredible rivalry over the last 10 years as both Premier League giants have been fighting for the biggest honours in the sport, but that was not always the case, which led to some interesting transfers.
A total of 16 players have played for both clubs with some of the biggest names being Raheem Sterling, James Milner, Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, Daniel Sturridge and David James.
| Player | Year joined Man City | Year joined Liverpool |
| Nicolas Anelka | 2002 | 2001 |
| Mario Balotelli | 2010 | 2014 |
| Craig Bellamy | 2008 | 2006 |
| Scott Carson | 2019 | 2004 |
| Nigel Clough | 1995 | 1993 |
| Robbie Fowler | 2002 | 1993 |
| Dietmar Hamann | 2006 | 1999 |
| David James | 2003 | 1992 |
| Mark Kennedy | 1999 | 1994 |
| Steve McMahon | 1992 | 1991 |
| Steve McManaman | 2003 | 1991 |
| James Milner | 2010 | 2015 |
| Albert Reira | 2005 | 2008 |
| Raheem Sterling | 2015 | 2011 |
| Daniel Sturridge | 2006 | 2012 |
| Kolo Toure | 2009 | 2013 |
If De Bruyne is added to the list, the Belgian would be, without a doubt, the biggest star to play for both Man City and Liverpool.
It will be interesting to see where the 33-year-old takes his career next, but it is very unlikely to be England, after everything he has achieved at City since his £55m move from Wolfsburg back in 2015.
