The Belgian is now into his final weeks as a City player, with his contract expiring in the summer.
De Bruyne left fans gutted recently by announcing he’d be leaving Manchester City, although a lot of people did expect it.
Pep Guardiola admitted it was the club’s decision to move De Bruyne on, which didn’t sit right with some. But others do feel it’s the right time for him to go.
De Bruyne has undoubtedly been one of the all-time Premier League greats, and is a definite Manchester City legend.
His quality is lost on nobody, and last night, the man many feel is his biggest rival for best Premier League player ever – Thierry Henry – shared how he felt when he heard De Bruyne was leaving City.
Thierry Henry left ‘sad’ by Kevin De Bruyne leaving Man City

For many City fans, it’s devastating that De Bruyne is leaving.
He has given the supporters so many amazing memories, and it’s possible we may never see a player of his ilk in a City shirt again.
Last night, Thierry Henry made an appearance on Monday Night Football, and spoke about the City maestro, sharing his reaction when he heard he’d be leaving.
“When I saw the news, we kind of knew it was coming, right? I’m not a City fan, but I’m a football fan. When I saw the news of De Bruyne saying he was leaving Man City, I was sad. I was sad because we’re not going to see him anymore.
“Kevin is a special player, as we all know, but he has a special brain. I will miss him. We all know he’s going to carry on playing football, but I will miss him in the Premier League.”
Henry previously said KDB is PL’s best creator ‘by a distance’
Henry was always likely to react in such a way to De Bruyne leaving City.
The Belgian is a player he has always admired and of course, Henry has actually worked closely with him during his stint with the Belgian national team.
Previously, Henry has hailed De Bruyne as the best creator the Premier League has seen ‘by a distance’ and even saying he saw a bit of himself in the number 17.
He said: “I see myself a lot with Kevin De Bruyne. It’s very difficult to understand his brain. I came across him in the national team.

“What he sees, what he tries to do… I think for me, as a midfielder, a creator, he’s the best I’ve seen in this league. By a distance.”
“I’ll explain why I see myself in him. I had the same character. When something wasn’t going the way I liked. I used to lose my marbels. This guy is the same. If you take one piece of the watch, the watch doesn’t function the same.
“He gets frustrated. I used to be the same. I had a strong bonding with him. He is a special player. I think what we’ve seen with him is just crazy. I love him. He’s an outstanding player.”
