Eden Hazard has suggested that he does not enjoy watching Erling Haaland play football.

The 33-year-old heaped praise on the treble-winner, claiming that he has never come across a player like him before.

Eden Hazard lauded him after revealing that he used to watch Erling Haaland during his spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Recently, Gary Neville claimed that he used to find Manchester City quite a “boring” team before the £51 million (Sky Sports) man joined the club as he believes he makes them more “imperfect” as a side.

In March, RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose joked that the 23-year-old should return to working with him amidst the debate surrounding whether he made City a worse team upon his move to the club.

But Eden Hazard, who went on to praise Erling Haaland seems to hint that he does not particularly enjoy watching him in action.

“For me, it’s like, when you talk about the best player in the world now, I don’t know, [Erling] Haaland is great, he’s great, he won the Champions League, he deserved to win the Ballon d’Or”, he said on The Obi One Podcast.

“But for me as a football player, it’s not the way I like to watch football, Haaland scoring three goals, you know what I mean? It’s possible when you say something like that people say, ‘Oh, this guy doesn’t respect Haaland.’ Of course, I respect Haaland!”

Eden Hazard named the players he tunes in to watch football for and some of them play with Erling Haaland for Pep Guardiola’s men.

“But I’m not watching football for Haaland. It’s perfect the way he’s doing things. But I’m watching football for Bernardo Silva, for Kevin De Bruyne, for Jude Bellingham, for, I don’t know, Jack Grealish, those nutmegs, that, this, you know what I mean?”

Whatever said and done, the Belgian legend knows how good Erling Haaland is

Ultimately, football is a subjective sport and Eden Hazard is justified in not finding Erling Haaland particularly entertaining.

The beautiful game is full of opinions and not every player will be universally adored, just in terms of the entertainment value they bring to the table.

However, if a certain pundit or fan does not enjoy watching Erling Haaland play, they can still acknowledge that he is an elite player as Eden Hazard did.

There must be a balance in the assessment surrounding Haaland and any other such player as otherwise, one would be blinding themselves to his brilliance, which would be an unfair perspective.
