The way Erling Haaland has started the 2024/2025 campaign, all the signs point towards him having a season to remember.
Ilkay Gundogan summed up Haaland’s brilliance by simply referring to him as “incredible” as he scored a hat-trick in Manchester City’s latest 3-1 victory against West Ham United.
With two hat-tricks in City’s first three Premier League games, Haaland matched a feat set in 1994 by Paul Jewell, who did the same for Bradford City in League Two.
Considering there are still 35 games left to play in the league, the £51 million man would have his sights set on either levelling or even surpassing his all-time record of scoring 36 goals in a single season.
The Manchester City striker has started the campaign in such blockbuster fashion that it would take a brave man to discount him from making history once again.
Jamie Redknapp claimed Haaland looks at his best; a daunting proposition for teams in England and across Europe.
Haaland went level with Thierry Henry as he too now has eight Premier League hat-tricks after his latest masterclass in front of goal; leaving him just four behind Sergio Aguero (12) — who has the most hat-tricks in Premier League history.

Tony Cascarino makes bold claim about Man City superstar
Considering the Norwegian has made 69 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side and is just 24, he has plenty of time to surpass the Argentine’s tally.
Considering the star striker’s habit of scoring hat-tricks, it seems likely that he could break Aguero’s record.
Ian Wright backed Haaland to score six goals in a game — as expecting the extraordinary from him has become the norm.
But Tony Cascarino has now claimed that Haaland could score four more hat-tricks this season.
Alan Shearer has scored the most number of hat-tricks in a single Premier League season; five in the 1995/1996 campaign.
However, Cascarino told talkSPORT: “Well, he’ll probably get that by this season, he’ll probably get another four hat-tricks this season. I mean, I’m looking at you and it is [astonishing].”
“Would it be that unlikely that he got another four hat-tricks?”
In his debut season at the club, the £375,000-a-week man scored a staggering four hat-tricks in the Premier League.

Erling Haaland certainly could break this Alan Shearer record
Considering Haaland already has two hat-tricks to his name this season, he has 35 league games to score four more to surpass Shearer in this regard.
With the two-time Premier League winner already having scored four hat-tricks in his first season and considering the devastating touch he is, he certainly could reach a tally of six by the end of the campaign.
However, Haaland’s aim will unlikely be to set his primary focus on breaking such records and helping Manchester City retain their league title.
The kind of goalscorer the Leeds-born marksman is, he seems set to make a mockery of age-old records season after season.
But if Haaland does manage to score six hat-tricks in the league this season, his claim as a Premier League great will become virtually impossible to deny.
If the former Borussia Dortmund does manage to score four more hat-tricks, it will be intriguing to see how quickly achieves such a historic feat.
