Manchester City have recently been linked with a move for Jamal Musiala – and European football expert Kevin Hatchard gave his thoughts on whether the midfielder could leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Musiala is reported to be someone on City and Pep Guardiola’s radar heading into the summer.
It is thought that the Spaniard feels the youngster can become one of the very best in his position in the world.
Musiala has shone since joining Bayern in 2020, but there has been some speculation in recent times that he could depart this summer, with the player seemingly unwilling to sign a contract extension. The player’s existing deal at the Allianz Arena runs until the summer of 2026.
On Wednesday evening, Kevin Hatchard appeared on talkSPORT and responded when asked if he felt Musiala could actually be on the move in the next window…
Kevin Hatchard says it is very unlikely Manchester City target Jamal Musiala will leave Bayern Munich this summer

Musiala has, over the last couple of years, established himself as one of the top young players in football.
The 21-year-old – who is valued at least £80 million – has been a starter now for Bayern since he arrived at the Allianz, making 155 appearances and scoring 41 goals and making 21 assists.
The Germany international is one of the best attacking midfielders around, and City have previously been reported to view him as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
But in the eyes of European football expert Kevin Hatchard, who commentates games in the Bundesliga, the chances of Musiala actually leaving this summer are very low.
When asked by Darren Bent if he could see Musiala leaving amid the links to Manchester City, Hatchard said (via talkSPORT): “No. I don’t think so. Well look, anything is a possibility. But I would think it’s extremely small (the chance of him going). I think there’s a bit of jousting going on about a potential new long-term contract maybe.
“But I think Bayern would fight tooth and nail to keep him. There’s been no indication from him that he’s in any rush to leave Bayern.”
Musiala would be a top signing by Man City
It is looking as though Musiala is probably going to stay put at Bayern this summer.
It would be amazing if City made a move for him in the future because he is the real deal, and someone Rio Ferdinand has tipped to win a Ballon d’Or, while Owen Hargreaves believes he could play for any team.
Musiala is technically amazing and would surely thrive in City’s team.
Sadly though, it does look like any potential move to the Etihad is off the cards right now. Especially when you consider there have been more reports about City moving for Lucas Paqueta.
