Manchester City have waved goodbye to several players during the summer transfer window.
For example, after seeing Sergio Gomez join Real Sociedad last month, another City player made their way to Spain as Julian Alvarez made a move to Atletico Madrid earlier this week.
In addition to that, names such as Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle, Micah Hamilton and Liam Delap have joined various English clubs on permanent deals.
Now that the summer window is set to closer at the end of the month, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding another English side’s interest in signing a player currently in Pep Guardiola’s ranks at the Etihad Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano says Everton have made contact with people close to Kalvin Phillips
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Fabrizio Romano had this to say about Everton’s interest in Kalvin Phillips.
He said: “Everton have an interest in Kalvin Phillips, not only Everton, but Everton are well informed on the situation.
“They have already made some contact with people close to the player to be aware of the situation around Kalvin Phillips, I still expect him to leave Manchester City if they receive a good proposal.
“So that’s the idea. Everton have an interest, but still nothing advanced or close to being completed, because in this moment, it’s still early stages of the story.”
City need a solution for Phillips
After completing a loan spell at West Ham United in the second half of last season, the midfielder, who Alan Pardew claimed last month should leave City again this summer, is back with the Blues as they head into the new season.
Described by Guardiola recently as being a “really good” player when he has the full view of the pitch ahead of him (via BBC Sport), Phillips didn’t feature in City’s recent Community Shield victory over Manchester United despite featuring regularly in the pre-season tour of America.
Therefore, if the Englishman isn’t likely to be playing regularly for the Citizens this season, the best solution would be for him to join a side like Everton, either on loan or permanently, where he’d be able to get consistent minutes on the pitch.
