Galatasaray now want to sign Man City player Guardiola thinks is ‘really good’

Someone in Manchester City’s squad has caught the attention of one of Europe’s big clubs.

In this current summer transfer window, City have seen numerous players leave the Etihad Stadium on permanent deals.

Specifically, the Blues has cashed in on names such as Sergio Gomez, Liam Delap, Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

In addition to that, the Manchester club, previously, have not been shy when it comes to selling some of the more prolific players in their ranks such as Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus among others.

With the summer transfer window set to close at the end of the month, another figure in Pep Guardiola’s ranks has now been linked with a move to a new club.

Galatasaray have set their sights on signing Kalvin Phillips

According to a recent report from The Sun, Galatasaray have an interest in signing Kalvin Phillips after they saw a bid for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay rejected.

The report also added that Roma, Everton, RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg have the Englishman on their radar.

City should consider selling Phillips

Since joining the Manchester club from Leeds United in a deal worth £45m back in the 2022 summer transfer window, the 28-year-old, who Alan Pardew recently claimed should leave City, has only made 31 appearances for the Citizens.

Last season saw the midfield join West Ham United on loan in January until the end of the campaign after only appearing in four Premier League games with City.

After deploying Phillips in a centre-back role during City’s recent pre-season friendly match against Barcelona, Guardiola described the Englishman as a “really good” player when he has the full view of the pitch in front of him (via BBC Sport).

In our view, if the former Leeds star isn’t likely to be playing regularly for the Blues in this upcoming season, we feel that it would be in everyone’s best interest to sell him to Galatasaray or any club that comes in with a suitable offer and gives Phillips consistent minutes on the pitch.
