Gary Neville has said Erling Haaland is one of the two best players in the world alongside Paris Saint-Germain megastar Kylian Mbappe.
The pundit lauded Haaland, as he picked him in his EA FC 24 Team of The Year on Sky Sports (via their YouTube channel).
In November, Gary Neville heaped praise on the £51 million (The Times) man, describing him as an “absolute phenomenon” as he gave his two cents on the star striker becoming the fastest-ever player to reach 50 Premier League goals.

While in September, the Manchester United legend claimed that the 23-year-old is the Sky Blues’ most important player bar none.
Clearly, Neville rates Haaland extremely highly, who has given the world countless reasons to sing his praises since joining the Premier League giants in the summer of 2022.
Now, Gary Neville has said Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, alongside Kylian Mbappe is one of the two best players in world football.
“[Erling] Haaland and [Kylian] Mbappe are just, they’re the best players in the world. They’re the two players that are going to take over from [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi in this next five, seven years and it’s a straight race between them. Both in [his EA FC 24 Team of The Year]”, he said on Sky Sports.
Erling Haaland gets taken for granted by his critics
Gary Neville is one of many who has appreciated the brilliance of Erling Haaland.
But the same cannot be said for the Norwegian goalscorer’s critics, who seem to be on a mission to find flaws in his arsenal.
While Haaland, just like any player in the history of the game is not perfect, it would be disingenuous not to rave about the magnitude of his achievements.
Not just in a Manchester City shirt but throughout his career.
To do so would be taking Erling Haaland’s magnificence for granted, who is on course to become one of, if not the best player of his generation.
Over time, perhaps even some of Haaland’s biggest sceptics will come to realise that he is a special footballer and admire his excellence.
