Rico Lewis has showered one of his Manchester City teammates with praise, calling him a ‘really top’ player.
Manchester City have enjoyed another great week in which they won yet another Manchester derby and then cruised into the Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over FC Copenhagen on Wednesday.
It was a perfect night for Pep Guardiola who was able to take Rodri off at the break and rest the likes of Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva completely for the match ahead of Sunday’s potentially Premier League-deciding clash with Liverpool.
Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez both started, though, and the pair got on the score sheet to increase their ever-growing goal tallies.
Rico Lewis moved to praise both after the game and had some lovely compliments for Alvarez.

Rico Lewis compliments Julian Alvarez
Speaking to City’s in-house media, Lewis said on the Argentine: “A really top player.
“One of his qualities is patience. Every time he plays, he works hard, he runs for the team.
“Ultimately, he scores goals and does his job very well.”
One of City’s most important players
Oscar Bobb has also praised Alvarez, labelling him one of City’s most important players and he certainly is.
The World Cup winner might not be getting as many headlines as Haaland, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne recently but he’s been absolutely crucial to City.
Alvarez already has 16 goals and 13 assists to his name and did so well in replacing De Bruyne when he was injured that City didn’t suffer from losing the midfield maestro for so long.
The fact such a quality player cost City a mere £14m is a testament to the club’s fantastic scouting network and impeccable decision-making in the transfer market.
