‘Helped me a lot’… Oscar Bobb says he actually asks £51m Man City player for advice

Oscar Bobb has revealed that Erling Haaland often gives him advice.

Since Bobb’s introduction into the first-team this season, Manchester City have had two Norwegians in their squad.

Of course, Erling Haaland is perhaps one of, if not the biggest sporting superstar his country has ever produced.

Oscar Bobb says Erling Haaland gives him advice

After City’s 1-0 win against Brentford, the 20-year-old admitted that it felt “crazy” for him to “play with one of the greats” while describing the star striker as “the best in the world.”

It is clear to see how much of a privilege the youngster himself thinks it is to play alongside a player of the £51.2 million (Eurosport) man’s calibre.

When asked about sharing a dressing room and playing alongside a fellow Norwegian in Erling Haaland, Oscar Bobb replied to the club’s in-house media, saying, “Yeah, it helps a lot. It’s so nice to have him and have someone to talk to and ask for advice, everything.”

Bobb added, “He’s achieved a lot of the things I dream to achieve so having him around, helping me develop and just helping me settle in this year has helped me a lot.”

The youngster should be inspired to work as hard as possible by Erling Haaland

When Ilkay Gundogan was leaving the Sky Blues in the summer, he told The Player’s Tribune that the former Borussia Dortmund goalscorer always strives towards becoming better and better daily, despite being an elite player already.

In June, Troy Deeny claimed that Jack Grealish told him that the 23-year-old was “the best pro you’ve ever seen” while disclosing that all he does is “train, eat, sleep, repeat.”

While Oscar Bobb may not have to go the extremes Erling Haaland does, in our view, he should still be inspired to push himself as much as possible as his countryman seems to do.

Even Haaland would put a lot of his success down to hard work and Bobb could also fast-track his development by outworking his competition.

It is clear to see how much talent the silky technician has but if he applies himself like his fellow Norwegian teammate, the sky is the limit for a prospect like him.
