Aaron Lennon has said that defenders must be petrified of going toe-to-toe with Jeremy Doku.
On FIVE’s official YouTube channel, the pundit was full of praise for Doku.
Even Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard described the Manchester City winger as “extremely dangerous” after his latest glorious display for Belgium in their 5-0 thrashing of Azerbaijan.
Aaron Lennon says defenders must fear facing Jeremy Doku
Also hailed as “very clever” by Chris Sutton, the 21-year-old has been a breath of fresh air since stepping foot into the Premier League.
Signing for a £55.5 million (Sky Sports) fee this summer, the youngster has made the left-wing position his own at Manchester City.
Aaron Lennon believes defenders must be worried about the prospect of locking horns with Jeremy Doku.
“Doku looks like a problem”, Lennon told FIVE.

“I’m telling you, defenders, he’s a nightmare for them at the minute because defenders have got so used to not defending anymore.”
“For a while, defenders in the bigger teams anyway, I find, they’re having so much possession that they’re just going forward. They might defend two, three one-on-ones, for example. Whereas you’ve got someone like Doku now, [as] soon as he gets the ball, he’s facing you up.”
“He’s not coming inside, he’s like, ‘I’m going past you.’
Jeremy Doku is every full-back’s worst nightmare
Aaron Lennon has hit the nail on the head with his comments about Jeremy Doku.
If the Belgian international’s exceptional dribbling was not enough of a threat, it also helps that he is one of the fastest players in Europe.
The former Rennes forward is also capable of playing on both flanks and shows no signs of fear, regardless of the full-back he is tasked to come up against.
For any full-back, this must be a terrifying prospect, also considering that Doku’s decision-making in the final third is surprisingly mature for a player as young as him.
