Cole Palmer left Manchester City for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and he is flourishing away from the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City sold Cole Palmer to Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
City got an initial transfer fee of £40 million for Palmer (Sky Sports).
I was among those who were surprised at City’s decision.

After all, Palmer, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, is one of the best young players around.
I did not think at the time that City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, should have sold Palmer.
However, it subsequently emerged that the 21-year-old himself wanted to leave City for Chelsea.
Apparently, the Englishman wanted regular playing time and felt that Chelsea would give him that.
And, to be fair to Palmer, he has been proven right.
Palmer has made himself as a regular in the Chelsea starting lineup and is a trusted player for head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
The Chelsea no. 20 has made three starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
The 21-year-old has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.
Paul Merson impressed with Cole Palmer
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has been impressed by how well Palmer has done at Chelsea so far this season.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that he always knew that Palmer would be a success at Chelsea.
Merson told SportsKeeda: “I said it when they signed him that Cole Palmer was a good player and he has shown in recent weeks that he’s very much a player for the present and the future.
“He can unlock defences as he’s used to training like that at Manchester City and has done really well in recent weeks.”
Manchester City fans would have preferred it if Cole Palmer were weaving his magic for Pep Guardiola’s side, but I do not think that the defending Premier League champions are missing him much.
I do not think that City will miss the 21-year-old much in the coming years.
Yes, Palmer is a very good player, but City have some superb youngsters, such as Rico Lewis, Phil Foden and Oscar Bobb.
City will do just fine without Palmer.
