Steve Nicol has said that he has been surprised by Manchester City and England international right-back Kyle Walker since his move from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Liverpool legend has shared what he did not think Walker would be able to do at City.
So, what has Steve Nicol said about Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to Liverpool legend Steve Nicol, Kyle Walker is the player who has improved the most under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The ESPN FC pundit has admitted that he did not think that Walker would be a success at City when he joined from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 33-year-old moved to City from Premier League rivals Spurs in the summer of 2017 for an initial transfer fee of £45 million (BBC Sport).
Walker has been one of the best players at the Etihad Stadium over the years and is still going strong.

The right-back has won the Premier League title as many as five times and also won the UEFA Champions League last season.
Walker has made 375 appearances in the league so far in his career. The defender has scored eight goals, given 33 assists, and has kept 127 clean sheets in those games.
Nicol said on ESPN FC: “I wasn’t sure Kyle Walker was going to fit into this ultra-passing, but he absolutely has become an integral part of it.”
Manchester City and England star Kyle Walker is still world class
In my opinion, Manchester City and England international right-back Kyle Walker is still a world-class player.
Yes, Walker is 33 now, and there is speculation that City are looking at Reece James of Chelsea as a potential long-term successor, but I believe that the former Tottenham Hotspur star can still do a very good job.
Walker has not lost his pace and is a very intelligent player when it comes to defending and making the right tackles at the right challenge.
The 33-year-old did well against Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior in the UEFA Champions League last season and is still a regular in the City team.
Walker has given one assist in 12 Premier League matches and has played three times in the UEFA Champions League for the Citizens this season.
