Manchester City are now gearing up for their latest Premier League match following the first international break of the season.

After securing victories against Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham United, City headed into the international break as Premier League leaders.

This weekend sees Pep Guardiola’s side take on Brentford at the Etihad Stadium as they look to keep their winning streak going.

Last season saw the Manchester club beat the Bees home and away, firstly with a 3-1 away win followed shortly after with a 1-0 victory at the Etihad.

In the build-up to this latest meeting between the two sides, one pundit and former Premier League star has made a claim about something he thinks will take place in Saturday’s clash.

Ian Wright backs Erling Haaland to do something special in Man City vs Brentford

When asked to share his thoughts on City’s upcoming match against Brentford in a recent edition of Stick To Football, Ian Wright had this to say about one particular thing he thinks will happen in the game.

He said: “I fancy [Erling] Haaland. I feel Haaland is going to score a hat-trick again.”

Haaland will want to add to his goal tally against Brentford

Having started all three of City’s league games of the season, Haaland has scored seven goals in total, which is more than most clubs in the division have been able to.

In fact, the 24-year-old has scored his tenth and 11th hat-trick for City, the first coming against Ipswich and the other coming in the 3-1 win at West Ham.

This isn’t the first time the former Arsenal star has backed the striker to do something special this season, as Wright claimed that Haaland could become the first player to score six goals in one league game.

Moving forward, having already won two Golden Boots, the Norwegian will undoubtedly want to secure a third by the end of this latest season, which could be on the cards if he does end up scoring a third hat-trick of the campaign against Brentford.
