Bayern Munich are now trying to tie Alphonso Davies down to a new contract amid interest from Manchester City.
That was confirmed by Christoph Freund – Director of Football at Bayern Munich.
So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Alphonso Davies? Let’s take a look…
Bayern Munich attempt to fend off Manchester City
Well, it was 90min who claimed that the Canada international is wanted at the Etihad Stadium.
Thomas Tuchel recently issued a firm hands off warning in regards to Davies, telling reporters that he is “our player” when asked about the 23-year-old’s future.
The German also remained coy when quizzed on contract talks for the Canadian – simply opting to say that he trusts the management.
Now, the management has spoken.
Speaking to Sport1 in Germany, Freund was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying: “We’re in talks, we’ll see what happens in the coming weeks.”

It comes after Mundo Deportivo claimed that Bayern Munich are actually worried about Davies running down his contract – which expires in 2025 – and leaving on a free transfer, just like David Alaba did in 2021.
Davies – who is valued at €80m (£69m) by the CIES Football Observatory – has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, providing three assists.
Manchester City not just targeting Alphonso Davies
By the sounds of it, Pep Guardiola has a number of players he hopes to pinch from his old side.
A story from Graeme Bailey on TEAMtalk claimed that Manchester City are also looking at Bayern Munich No.6 Joshua Kimmich in addition to Davies.

Elsewhere, German outlet BILD reported that Guardiola wants to bring Bayern Munich No.42 Jamal Musiala to the Etihad Stadium as a long term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at the Allianz Arena, as Manchester City could raid Tuchel of a key player or two.
