Thomas Tuchel has now shared an update on Bayern Munich No.19 Alphonso Davies – amid interest from Manchester City.

It was Fabrizio Romano who quoted the German.

So, what is the latest on Manchester City target Alphonso Davies? Let’s take a look…

Bayern Munich issue firm statement on Manchester City target Alphonso Davies

Well, Tuchel was in no mood to entertain talk of the Canada international leaving Bayern Munich.

A story from 90min claimed that Davies is a target for Guardiola at Manchester City – BILD in Germany add that Real Madrid are also keen.

Now – however – Tuchel has defiantly said that the Canadian is “our player” as the German aims to deflect from the fact his No.19 will only have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.

The 50-year-old said: “Alphonso Davies is our player and an absolute key player. He knows how highly we value him. For me, how long the player is under contract doesn’t change anything. He’s playing regularly at the highest level. Contract talks? I trust the management.”

So far this season, the 23-year-old has been vital for Bayern Munich once again, making 19 appearances across all competitions, providing three assists.

Interestingly, Manchester City are also keen to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich.

It was respected journalist Graeme Bailey who claimed that the treble winners are huge fans of the Germany international, and are confident about signing the Bayern Munich No.6 if he chose to leave the Allianz Arena.

We would be shocked if Manchester City found a way to sign both the £132,000-a-week Davies and Kimmich.

However, with Guardiola at the helm, and last season’s treble to show off, Manchester City are capable of attracting any player to the Etihad Stadium.
