Pundit Jerome Rothen has suggested Bernardo Silva to reject a transfer to PSG in the summer.
The former French international told RMC Sport, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb that the £43 million (BBC Sport) man amidst speculation that he could join Christophe Galtier’s side next season.
However, pundit Jerome Rothen firmly believes that Bernardo Silva should turn down a potential transfer to PSG without question.
Pundit Jerome Rothen tells Bernardo Silva to reject PSG transfer
Branded as ‘special’ by Pep Guardiola, the 28-year-old has especially proven his class in Europe, starring across both legs against Bayern Munich as well as stealing the show against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
A report claimed just two days ago that the Ligue 1 champions had identified the Portuguese maestro as a replacement for the exit-linked Lionel Messi.
Jerome Rothen, however has said that if Bernardo Silva is hoping for a summer transfer, the club he should avoid at all costs is PSG.

“It would be stupid if he accepted for economic reasons. The president or the emir shouldn’t be concerned with building a team. It’s just a matter of image. They want to be kicked. It’s their money. They decide to take names, they want Bernardo Silva, especially after the match he played on Wednesday.”
Pundit Jerome Rothen explained why a transfer to PSG is not a smart move for any player, including Bernardo Silva, saying, “Money is not a problem for them. They don’t want Bernardo Silva for the team. Bernardo Silva would do something stupid if he comes only for financial and lifestyle reasons. There is also the atmosphere and structure of a team. I am convinced that it will come because it is a star. The name is enough for them, it makes the PSG brand shine.”
Bernardo Silva should not leave Manchester City regardless
While Bernardo Silva may crave for a change of scenery, pundit Jerome Rothen is right in saying that with the way PSG operate, a transfer to them is only going to be a step down for him.
In addition, Manchester City are just three games away from winning the treble.
With Pep Guardiola’s contract set to expire in 2025, the former Monaco attacker has a chance to add to his trophy cabinet as well as his legacy during that time.
An exit post-Guardiola makes a lot more sense but with Silva being in the prime of his career as one of the greatest club sides of all time is only starting to peak, it would be a bizarre decision to leave.
