Manchester City have made a perfect start to the 2024/25 season and currently sit top of the Premier League table.
Manchester City have beaten Chelsea, Ipswich Town, West Ham United and Brentford so far, and Pep Guardiola’s side have been improving every week.
City have historically made slow starts to Premier League seasons. But City have taken maximum points so far without playing to their best level, which is ominous for their title rivals.
One man who has been absolutely central to City’s great start is Erling Haaland, who has already banged in nine goals after just four games.
The Norwegian has been utterly ruthless in front of goal, with fans recently noting that none of his goals have been tap-ins.
He’s been devastating, and his form has prompted a reaction in the Arsenal dressing room.
Jorginho says Erling Haaland is so good he’s making the Arsenal squad laugh

Haaland has clearly benefitted from having the summer off.
The 24-year-old did not go to Euro 2024 as Norway did not qualify, and he was therefore able to rest up a lot before returning for the start of pre-season.
Haaland has flown out the traps this season and looks like he could finish a chance every time he gets the ball.
It looks like it could be another record-breaking season for the superstar striker – who Rio Ferdinand is backing to break Cristiano Ronaldo’s record as the fastest player to reach 100 goals for one club – and City are bound to win several trophies if he stays fit.
It is difficult for players of other teams not to take note of what he is doing right now, with Arsenal midfielder Jorginho admitting their squad cannot help but laugh at this amazing display of goalscoring.
He said (via Guardian): “Erling scoring again … it is starting to make us laugh. We look because we look at all the games and we love football.
“We love the Premier League so we watch all the games. We watch [City] as well, which is normal. It doesn’t get to our head. We need to focus on us and that is what we are trying to do.”
Haaland exploits must be hard to ignore
It has been a devastating start to the new season for £51 million signing Haaland and what he is doing right now is obviously making headlines regularly.
It must be quite difficult for rival teams to shut out his achievements, which really are out of this world.
Arsenal are a great side and will likely give City another push this season. But it must be so difficult for them to compete with a side who have a generational striker leading the line.
The key for City will simply be to keep Haaland fit. Since he signed he has largely managed to steer clear of the treatment room which is very encouraging.
We know how well he looks after himself, so hopefully he will play the bulk of the games this term.
