When Kaka was asked to build his perfect footballer, he picked Kevin De Bruyne when it came to the category of “football IQ.”

The Brazilian legend raved about De Bruyne’s intelligence while speaking to GOAL.

It seems like the Manchester City talisman’s elite footballing brain is one of his standout features, according to many.

Kaka says Kevin De Bruyne is “very smart”

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho claimed that the £54 million (Guardian) man is a nightmare to mark on the pitch because he believes his intelligence is on “another level” to most players.

Similarly, Jamie Carragher believes the 32-year-old is the smartest player in the Premier League.

Kaka has echoed such opinions when discussing how bright Kevin De Bruyne is as a player.

“Yeah, I think he’s very smart, he’s very intelligent on the field. He can see the play and the action before the other players. So, Kevin De Bruyne, he’s different”, he told GOAL.

Kevin De Bruyne is similar to the Brazilian in a lot of ways

It would not be a surprise to see Kaka reveal that he sees himself in Kevin De Bruyne.

The similarities are there for all to see but for some reason, the pair tend not to be compared quite often.

Much like the treble-winner, the former AC Milan midfielder was also renowned for his phenomenal eye for a pass.

But where Kaka and De Bruyne are similar is that they have the rare ability to pick the perfect pass while being in motion with the ball at their feet.

The pair are renowned for their one-of-a-kind ability to demolish an opposition’s press at will by simply driving past them with their incredible dribbling ability coupled with their raw athleticism.

As a result, both these maestros are held in high regard as simply put, there are not many better attacking midfielders the game has seen than players like them.

With Kevin De Bruyne being quite similar to the retired technician in so many ways, one can understand why the latter appreciates the former’s football IQ.
