Vincent Kompany is, without doubt, a Manchester City legend.
The Belgian spent 11 years at the Etihad Stadium racking up a total of 360 appearances for City, scoring 20 goals and assisting a further 10. The defender would leave the Manchester club in 2019 with four Premier League titles to his name, in addition to four EFL Cups and two FA Cups.
Kompany is adored by Man City fans and just as important, the former City captain was held in high regard by the teammates he sharted a dressing room with in Manchester.
Two of them, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, once predicted what the future held for Kompany and it came true with a decision the 39-year-old made in 2020.

Kevin De Bruyne’s Vincent Kompany prediction came true
Kompany held the title as Man City captain for eight years having been handed the armband in 2011, with Carlos Tevez having expressed publicly his desire to leave the Manchester club.
The Belgian was the perfect choice for the role as he often displayed his leadership both on and off the pitch, which is why De Bruyne predicted Kompany to become a manager once he ended his playing career.
Kompany once paid homage to the Man City star by including him in his best five-a-side team and that may have been a favour returned after the midfielder talked nicely about him on Soccer AM.
“First, I would say Vinny,” De Bruyne said about Kompany when asked which of his teammates was most likely to become a manager. “He could also be a businessman, president, whatever. I can see him doing everything. He is always busy with business, his degree, whatever.”
Kompany decided to go into management in 2020 with Anderlecht and after impressing with Burnley, the 39-year-old now finds himself in a top job as he currently coaches Bayern Munich, where the former Man City man is dealing with some top stars.
Foden also made the same prediction about Kompany, however, the Englishman also added that he would love to see his former teammate do something special in the future.

Phil Foden hopes to work with Vincent Kompany again
Kompany would have been a figure Foden looked up to when coming through at Man City and the 24-year-old previously stated that he would love to work with the Belgian again and would like to see him coach at the Etihad Stadium one day.
When asked the same question as De Bruyne by Soccer AM, Foden also named Kompany as the teammate most likely to become a manager.
“Vincent Kompany probably. When he retires, hopefully not soon, I can see him being a manager. Hopefully, he can come to City and be a coach here, I would like that.”
Pep Guardiola will have inspired Kompany and that education was always going to benefit him once he decided to move into management.
The Belgian is on the verge of winning the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and should things continue to go well for the 39-year-old, maybe one day he will return to Manchester, once his former boss decides to call it a day at the Etihad Stadium.
