Jeremy Doku is one of the fastest players at Manchester City without a shadow of a doubt.
It is rare that any defender who squares up to Doku can match him for pace.
Kylian Mbappe once singled Doku out by revealing that during his time as a professional player, he is yet to see a player be as rapid from a standing start position.
Considering Mbappe has a case for being one of the fastest players the game has seen in years, his claim about the Manchester City winger speaks volumes of how pacey he is.
Doku’s electric pace is one of the many reasons why he is one of the most feared wide forwards in the Premier League.
Unless a team doubles upon on the 22-year-old, their full-back is likely to be in a world of trouble due to his speed and quick feet.

De Bruyne names Man City player who’s quicker than Doku
However, not many players know Doku’s game better than Kevin De Bruyne.
The 33-year-old has played with the former Rennes wideman in the national team for several years as well as at the Etihad Stadium for over a year now.
It was reported in August that De Bruyne advised Manchester City to sign Doku over both Michael Olise and Bradley Barcola.
De Bruyne even lauded Doku’s first season at City and described him as a “frightening” dribbler.
In a video with the Sky Blues’ official in-house media, the speedster was told that Kyle Walker’s pace in EA FC 25 had been lowered to an 89 rating from 90; making him the faster player at the club on the game with a 92 rating.
However, De Bruyne believes Walker is still faster than Doku.
“No, impossible, it’s Kyle [Walker].”
“Kyle is quicker, let’s be honest.”
“It’s not even a debate.”
Pep Guardiola claimed via BeanymanSports in November last year that over five metres, Doku could be the fastest player at the club but he lacks the same level of pace a winger like Leroy Sane did over long distances.
Jeremy Doku and Kyle Walker are faster than each other in different ways
Over short distances, Doku might be the quickest player at City and arguably in the Premier League as a whole.
However, over longer distances, Walker might still be faster.
The £50 million defender’s acceleration increases the further he runs.
Perhaps due to Doku not being the tallest means his strides do not allow him to cover ground like Walker does.
De Bruyne perhaps knows best and in his view, the Englishman still has the edge over his countryman.
