Kyle Walker has played alongside a massive number of players throughout his career.
At the age of 34, the Englishman has racked up 619 senior club appearances and featured in 90 games for the England national team.
308 of those club games have come during his time with Manchester City, where he has won multiple domestic and European trophies.
Throughout his illustrious career, Walker has shared the dressing room with a multitude of players at City and beyond.
On that point of his multiple teammates, the full-back has named one particular figure he shared the pitch with at the Etihad Stadium for a period as being particularly charismatic.
Kyle Walker lauds Vincent Kompany for ‘aura’ at Man City
When asked to name some of the best captains he’s played under in his career during a recent episode of You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker, the right-back gave this response.
He said: “[John Terry], Kompany. They were, for me, probably the top two. Just because of the aura they had, especially Vinnie around City, he just had an aura.”
Luke Mbete has also highlighted Kompany’s aura at City
Walker isn’t the only person connected to City to highlight the former defender’s aura, as Luke Mbete shared how much of an influence Kompany had on him, saying this about the Belgian back in July.
He said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Vincent Kompany and as a person, he is a great guy.
“As a player, he stood out to me growing up. He is a leader and obviously plays in the same position as me. His aura is just elite. He is a top player and a top person as well.
“He’s someone I have looked at since I was young and I feel like I have learnt a lot from him. I try to add some of his stuff into my game. To be compared or linked to someone of his ability would be great.”
Spending 11 years at City between 2008 and 2019, Kompany made 360 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists along the way.
He also captained the Blues to multiple trophies, including their first Premier League title back in the 2011/12 season.
In fact, Gabby Agbonlahor named Kompany as one of the toughest defenders he ever came up against.
Now that Walker has named the current Bayern Munich boss as the best captain he’s ever played with and highlighted how much charisma he had at the Manchester club, this showcases how much of a unique personality he has.
