Manchester City were involved in numerous deals over the recent summer transfer window.
In addition to bringing in the likes of Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan, City also cashed in players such as Julian Alvarez and Joao Cancelo.
However, the Blues also managed to find the time to extend the contract of Stefan Ortega following their previous Premier League campaign where they became the first side to win four consecutive league trophies.
Now though, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding another player in the squad the club are looking to extend the contract of.

Man City close to agreeing new contract for Erling Haaland
According to a report from a recent print edition of Spanish newspaper Marca (via City Xtra), the Manchester club are not far away from agreeing to a new and improved contract for Erling Haaland.
The report also added that Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has had several meetings with City and everything now indicates that a new deal will be agreed.
A new contract for Haaland would be great for City
When he joined City back in 2022, the striker signed a five-year deal, meaning that his current contract, which is seeing him pick up a weekly wage of £375k-a-week, is set to expire in the summer of 2027.
During his time at the club, the 24-year-old has scored 97 goals in 102 games across all competitions, winning many trophies and individual awards along the way.
In fact, Darren Bent recently claimed that Haaland could go on to become the best Premier League striker in history if he carries on the way he has in England so far.
Now that it has been reported that City are close to agreeing a new contract with the Norwegian, seeing him pledge his future to the club would undoubtedly be a big positive for everyone at the Etihad Stadium.
